WOW...this piano is an absolutely wonderful instrument! After just a few notes, you realize this piano isn't your ordinary professional upright...it is a dynamo! The bass section has the power you normally only find in a 6 foot (or larger) grand piano. It isn't that wimpy sound you get out of many verticals! On up through the tenor and treble range...a beautiful, singing tone...all the way to the top. You will be very pleased with the performance of this instrument!Manufactured in 1983, this beauty looks like new and has a sound that will make you want to dig out all of your favorite music. When you look inside at the hammers and strings, you can tell immediately that it is a very "low mileage" piano.
How often do you find a top-of-the-line 52" Steinway in a gorgeous mahogany cabinet with inlays? This model also has fancier moulding around the top of the legs. If you have looked at K52's before, you know that they are usually satin ebony and look very "institutional". The cabinetry on this piano is very elegant.
You often don't find a 52" Professional Upright Steinway that has come out of a home. (Most of these professional models begin their lives in a music studio or university, where they experience extensive use). We just acquired this piano from the original owner, who wasn't able to fit this into her new, assisted living quarters. Our goal is to find another loving home for this piano where it will receive plenty of TLC and be enjoyed for decades to come.
So, what's this piano worth? According to the Ancott Associates book (blue book of pianos), MSRP is around $29,700. Depending on what part of the country you live in, you may find this piano from $25K to up in the low $30K's. If you are a savvy shopper, you might be able to squeeze the price down to the lower $20K range. Our price for this beauty, a mere $14,500!
