HEY, check out this Steinway!Manufactured in 1898, this fancy Steinway model B grand piano features the "flowerpot" legs and ivory keys. This leg design is one of the more decorative Victorian-style legs that Steinway built. Yes, this is a full 88-note model, not an 85 note....please check out the photos.
The piano was rebuilt in 1998 with new Steinway hammers and action, new damper felt, new pinblock, new pins & strings, new satin ebony finish, new fallboard decal, the soundboard was shimmed, and the plate was redone. Since the time of the rebuild, some hairline cracks have appeared along the shims, but they aren't causing any noticeable tonal loss.
The ivory keys are nice and white. There are a few keys with small imperfections, but they are in very good condition overall.
This Steinway B has a beautiful tone which, of course, is typical of a big Steinway! It plays and sounds great and you will be hard pressed to find another Steinway model B of this style and condition for anywhere close to this price.
If you are an ANTIQUE LOVER who wants an ornate piece of furniture to accent a special spot in your living room, here is a stunning example of made-in-the-U.S.A., Steinway craftsmanship.
If you are a MUSICIAN who wants a Steinway (but doesn't have $50K or $60K in your pocket right now), here is a nice instrument. No, it is not freshly restored and there are a few little minor imperfections in this instrument, but it can easily be upgraded down the road.
If you are an INVESTOR who is tired of riding the stock market roller coaster and would rather have a solid investment sitting in your home, where your whole family can enjoy it.....look no further.
