Check out the grain pattern on this walnut Steinway Louis XV grand. If you appreciate fine art, you could spend a decent amount of time staring at the wood on this piano!
Sometime in the not-so-distant past, this piano has been restored with a new Steinway action including new shanks, flanges, wippens and new hammers. It appears the back action may be new as well. The strings, pins and pinblock are in unbelievably great condition (and look new)....but we are nearly certain they are original, due to the factory paint on the plate. The damper felts are new as well, as well as the backchecks.
The lacquer finish is also in beautiful condition and it is difficult to think it has not been refinished. Unfortunately, the seller could not provide details of any restoration work, as it was his mother's piano.
The bench is a matching Steinway Louis XV bench. These benches are a true testament to American craftmanship at its finest. Please look at the photos of the wood on the benchtop.....mmmmmm.
The original ivory keytops are white and flawless. You will probably never see another set in better condition than these. They are perfect. Caress these keys and you will discover a warm, soothing tone that will put you in your happy spot!
This 5'10 1/2" model L is no longer offered in a Louis XV cabinet. It's smaller version (the model M Louis XV) commands a whopping list price of $138,600. So, it is fair to guess the larger model would be upwards of $145,000. WHEW....I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around these numbers.
This is the instrument many folks only dream of owning. You can have the distinct privilege of enjoying this heirloom quality Steinway for pennies on the dollar.....and your family can keep enjoying it for generations to come!
We look forward to hearing from you soon. 800-950-3774
